The 100th Birthday of Goldbears Gummies

HARIBO celebrated the 100th birthday of its original sweet treat, Goldbears. The original Goldbears will include Blue-raspberry flavored party hats, limited edition single-flavor varieties in Pineapple (clear) and a brand new Blue-Raspberry (blue) flavor. The flavors will be available throughout 2022, with one additional new flavor scheduled to release later this year. HARIBO will send four Goldbears fans on a week-long vacation to Myrtle Beach, S.C., plus a year's supply of Goldbears. This sweepstakes also includes runner-up prizes, passes to the Carolina Country Music Festival, HARIBO swag and other summer-themed prizes.

EZ Tear Zipper Technology

Integrated Plastics Packaging introduced “Easy Linear Tear Zipper” technology to facilitate the opening of stand-up pouches. The technology utilizes a combination of material technology and machinery settings to incorporate the feature into the pouch substrate, offering a lower cost alternative and providing an aesthetically pleasing look without a visible laser scored line. The technology can ensure a straight clean tear of the laminate allowing easy access to the product packaged and subsequent use of the re-closeable zipper.

Industrial Compostability Certification

Cortec Corporation received industrial compostability certification — the "OK compost INDUSTRIAL" certificate from TÜV Austria — for its Eco Wrap stretch film. This certifies that Eco Wrap conforms to the criteria for industrial compostability under EN 13432 (European equivalent of ASTM D6400). Eco Wrap is reportedly world’s first compostable industrial strength machine grade stretch film. Most applications requiring three wraps of standard film can use two wraps of Eco Wrap. The latest formula uses a certified compostable resin plus a tackifier additive to make an industrial strength compostable stretch wrap that can be used on most standard automated stretch wrap equipment.
