Bobo’s Launches Limited-Edition LGBTQ+ Artist Series Pride Bars
Bobo's, a Colorado-based snack brand, partnered with three artists from the LGBTQ+ community to design the limited-edition packaging of the brand's third annual Pride Bar. Each of the three artists' designs will be featured on Bobo's Pride version of the popular Lemon Poppyseed Oat Bar and will include a personal statement from each artist on what pride means to them. This bar will be available throughout 2021 and will help provide critical support and materials to LGBTQ+ individuals and families.

Polysack and Flessofab Launch Novel Recyclable Packaging
Polysack, a green-tech manufacturer of plastic film products for flexible packaging and high-shrink labels, partnered with Flessofab, an Italian packaging manufacturer, to launch a series of eco-friendly, stand-up pouch packaging. The Pack’N’Cycle family of films is made of Mono Oriented PE (MOPE) and successfully replaces traditional BOPET or BOPP, producing a package made of mono-material that can be fully recycled. The film, which maintains a thickness of less than 25 microns, is designed to be suitable for printing in every existing technology and a variety of applications.

Duke’s Mayonnaise Introduces Line of Single-Use Products
Suited for takeout and delivery, Duke’s Mayonnaise rolled out a line of single-use dipping sauce cups and salad dressing pouches, using quality ingredients and convenient packaging for consumers. The new products are now available in businesses across the country. Available in nine flavor varieties, the Duke’s Salad Dressing Pouches feature consumer-friendly packaging with a pourable spout for easy usage. The Duke’s Dipping Sauce Cups come in a 1.5-oz serving size and are available in seven flavor varieties.

Schreiner MediPharm Needle-Trap Solution
Schreiner MediPharm, a global provider of functional label solutions, equipped prefilled enoxaparin-sodium syringes from Kingfriend China, a provider of heparin and heparin products, with its Needle-Trap safety solution. The needle protection label with an integrated trap marks the syringe and helps protect healthcare staff against needlestick injuries. The trap component is directly connected to the label. As a result, the heparin syringes’ secondary packaging does not need to be modified. In addition, the economical solution requires only minimal production process adaptations.

Primera’s LX3000 Color Label Printer With “Big Ink”
Primera Technology, Inc. announced the new LX3000 Color Label Printer, with the addition of large, individual ink tanks and a reusable thermal inkjet print head called “Big Ink.” Print quality features native 1200 dpi resolution with a maximum print resolution of 1200 dpi x 4800 dpi. Labels up to 8-in. wide x 24-in. long can be printed. Print speed is up to 4.5 in. (114 mm) per second. Each CMY tank holds 60 ml of ink. Pre-primed, reusable print heads have another 42 ml of ink, for a total of 222 ml of “out of the box” ink. LX3000 is designed for users that need to print as many as 7,500 labels per day.

Customized Twin Stream Bundler
EDL Packaging’s bundlers are used to collate and securely bundle 3-packs, 4-packs, and 6-packs of shrink-wrapped bottles, which allows for faster shelf stocking at retail locations. Once the lanes have been populated by the servo laner, bottles are released into a web of film. Flight bars cycle down behind the product group to seal and cut the LDPE film, loosely enveloping the bottles inside the film. The twin wrapped product groups then convey side by side through a high efficiency heat tunnel that tightly shrinks the LDPE film around the bottles.
