Curbside Recyclable Paper Padded Mailers

Georgia-Pacific, a paper making and paper-based packaging company, expanded its manufacturing footprint for curbside recyclable paper padded mailers to support growing demand for more sustainable shipping envelopes. The mailers are made using kraft paper and have been tested at a recycled fiber mill to verify they can be processed with paper-based packaging typically used as fiber supply in mills. The new locations in Jonestown, Pennsylvania and McDonough, Georgia, will expand availability of the mailers in the Northeast and Southeast to customers including Amazon.

Florida Crystals Sugar Rebrand

Florida Crystals launched a fresh look that reflect its six decades of sustainably growing sugarcane. The new packaging design is an award winner of Graphic Design USA’s 2021 American Package Design Awards in the Food and Beverage category. The new design includes a larger product window; organized certifications to ease understanding of each product’s key attributes; and an origin statement to let consumers know that the sugar comes from sugarcane grown on family-owned farms. As a part of Florida Crystals commitment to reducing waste, its recyclable sugar pouches and jugs now feature a How2Recycle label to guide consumers to recycle properly.

MilCorr VpCI Shrink Film

Cortec // ecocortec.hr

Cortec Corrosion Protection Film

Cortec presented MilCorr VpCI Shrink Film — created for extreme outdoor climates and the preservation and corrosion protection of outdoor assets, even in the harshest environments. Preservation costs may be reduced 40-60%, according to data. VpCI molecules vaporize, diffuse and condense on metal surfaces within the enclosed space, protecting the part’s exterior as well as void spaces and recessed areas. Asset owners can create a unitized, tight and tamper-proof protective environment by heat-shrinking MilCorr VpCI Shrink Film to fit the shape of the object.

Proseal Tray Sealing Solutions

The Proseal GT4e will be shown at this year’s Pack Expo Las Vegas sealing the HALOPACK tray — the first fully gas-tight cardboard Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) tray produced with renewable or recycled cardboard. The semi-automatic rotary Proseal GTR, meanwhile, will seal both the recyclable carton board sandwich wedge pack from ProAmpac and MAP trays using its gas flushing feature.

In addition, a special chilled display houses the vast array of pack types, including the latest alternative materials to plastic and sealing formats, such as gas flush, hermetic shrink, vacuum and skin packaging, that are all capable of running on a single of Proseal’s range of tray sealing machines.

Primera’s new Catalyst Laser Label Marking System

Primera Technology, Inc. // primera.com

The Catalyst Laser Label Marking System

Primera’s new Catalyst Laser Label Marking System is now shipping and allows fast and easy production of highly durable, synthetic labels for a wide range of rough-service applications. Instead of ink, Catalyst uses a bundle of 2, 4, or 8 fiber-coupled laser diodes along with matched, high precision lenses (patent pending) to image onto CLF. Unlike other laser-based marking systems, it uses a knife blade instead of the laser beam to cut out the labels, eliminating the need for a smoke and fume extraction system, saving money on the initial equipment costs and the ongoing costs of periodic filter changes, cleaning and other maintenance.
